Blackwatch Projects advocates a safe work environment on all projects we undertake and complies with all relevant state regulations.

All personnel on our projects are suitably inducted into the safety program. Our company has a detailed “Company Safety Policy” along with site-specific safety plans, which are updated and audited monthly by our Occupational Workplace Health and Safety Manager.

Blackwatch Projects has third party accreditation on Work Place Health and Safety in accordance with AS/NZS 4804:2001. We also have in place Environment Policies and Procedures that are implemented throughout the company on all of our construction sites.

In addition to full accreditation from and compliance with authorities such as the Master Builders Association and the Queensland Building Services Authority, Blackwatch Projects is committed to delivering projects of the highest quality and the safest working environment.

Our superior performance is delivered through our Integrated Management System. Blackwatch Projects is third party certified for Quality Assurance – ISO AS/NZS 9001:2008 for Design, Construction, Refurbishment and Project Management Services. This accreditation means we can offer a full range of Design and Construct facilities. All business processes in the form of guidelines, manuals, documented procedures and the delivery of each process is defined across all levels of the company. Queensland Building and Construction Commission

The Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is a statutory authority established under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (QBCC Act) and is part of the portfolio of the Minister for Housing and Public Works.  The purpose of this regulatory authority is to improve the standards, equity and confidence in the building industry. Any contractors performing building work valued over $3,300 must hold a QBCC licence, and as such Blackwatch Projects holds an Open Unrestricted Builder Licence.  This means Blackwatch Projects has met all the regulatory requirements to construct all classifications of buildings/structures as defined in the Building Code of Australia.  Blackwatch Projects has held a QBCC Licence since 2000, and is deemed Category 6 as defined in the AATO classification, having an allowable turnover of $135 Million.

Business Insurance

Construction Works Professional and Public Liability – $48 Million

Professional Indemnity – $10 Million

The term professional is now often regarded as any person/entity who offers specialist advice or services.  As Blackwatch Projects provides a services as well as a finished product, we have ensured we have adequate insurance in place.  Lloyd’s is the world’s specialist insurance market. In the construction industry, it’s essential to keep our teams safe from accidents and deliver work to reliably high standards.  Blackwatch Projects believes it is essential to establish safe systems of work, identify hazards, assess risks and put controls in place to reduce these risks.  Due to the high risk natural of our operations, Blackwatch Projects has a strong commitment from Management to the continuous improvement of systems and processes to ensure quality and safety on all construction sites.

Quality assurance (QA) refers to administrative and procedural activities implemented in a quality system so that requirements and goals for a product, service or activity will be fulfilled.  It is the systematic measurement, comparison with a standard, monitoring of processes and an associated feedback loop that confers error prevention.  Blackwatch Projects undergoes an annual Quality Assurance Audit conducted by BSI to ensure the business meets all the QA principles of an effective and productive organisation.

Compliant with the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry

The Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry outlines specific principles and standards of behaviour that underpin best practice while promoting positive change in the industry.  Blackwatch Projects has a commitment to comply with all laws, regulations, codes of practice and contracts relating to the industry.  Blackwatch Projects strives for have standardised processes and procedures to ensure compliance with the National Code of Practice.

Queensland Government Prequalification (PQC) – Rating PQC 3

The Prequalification (PQC) System is the whole-of-Government central register of prequalified building consultants and contractors.   The PQC System provides clear and consistent performance requirements and guidelines for the selection of all building industry service providers for government building projects.   Prequalification applies to all building industry consultants directly commissioned on government building projects.  The PQC has a rating system which involves 4 levels.  These levels range from effective work practices (PQC Level 1) to leading-edge practice in a global context (PQC Level 4).  Blackwatch Projects is rated PQC Level 3.
